Level 2 National Award in Infection Control

The control of infection is important in a wide variety of work places including any health care setting, the hospitality industry and anywhere where people are residing and working together.

It is essential that employees are aware of the hazards and controls associated with the spread of infection in their workplace. This is important not only for protecting themselves from infection but also to reduce the risks to those around them.

One of the most high risk environments is healthcare where every year, a significant number of people are made ill and die as a result of healthcare associated infections. Health care providers have a legal and moral obligation to ensure they are not contributing to these statistics.

The most effective way of ensuring that employees are aware of how to control the spread of infection is for them to receive appropriate training in infection control.

Candidates who achieve the HABC Level 2 National Award in Infection Control will help organisations to comply with this requirement. HABC appreciate that training is an expense to business. However, we are extremely confident that our qualifications and awards will equip your candidates with practical knowledge wholly relevant and practical to their work activities.

Level 1 Awards in Health and Safety

The HABC Level 1 Awards in Health and Safety have been developed to ensure that employees are equipped with a basic knowledge of health and safety in their workplace, including the duties under UK health and safety legislation.

The qualifications need no former knowledge of Health and Safety and is therefore ideal as part of a company health and safety induction programme, but it could also form part of ongoing refresher training designed to improve the health and safety culture in a workplace.

The qualification will suit a diverse group of students including those from large multinationals to small businesses. Candidates could also use the qualification as part of relevant courses being taken in schools and colleges.
